Ceramics and Powder Drying
Our industrial microwave drying systems, such as the MIP 9 are used for ceramics and powder drying. Similar to most other drying applications, the goal of drying ceramics is to extract water prior to firing the materials at high temperatures. If you’ve ever tried drying ceramics and powder, you’ll understand it has a tendency of being tedious and slow-moving. In conventional drying applications, heat is not applied in a uniform manner. Another important factor of note is the low thermal conductivity of ceramics. This makes it a great candidate for microwave energy vs. traditional methods.
By applying microwave energy, ceramics and powder manufacturers have a greater control over the moisture content, when compared to other conventional methods. In turn, drying ceramics with microwaves has the capacity to reduce production costs. By utilizing a microwave dryer, manufacturers can obtain shorter processing times, less work-in-progress inventory, more finished goods and utilize space more efficiently than traditional methods.

Diamond Growth
The utilization of microwave energy to grow synthetic diamonds is most certainly an upward trending marketplace. Over the past few years, the Microwave Techniques team (Mega Industries and Ferrite Microwave Technologies) has worked extensively with both United States based and international diamond growers. As a combined entity, our dual expertise with microwave systems and high-power waveguide components help lab-grown diamond manufacturers as they engage with stringent materials and demanding technology to create the most perfect diamonds.
Chemical vapor deposition (CVD) diamond growth demands the most reliable and efficient microwave technology. Our longstanding history of working with plasma researchers and processors helps us engage with lab-grown diamond manufacturers and provide them the microwave solutions needed for the rigors of their work.
Typically, the components and systems involved in diamond growth operate in the 915 MHz frequency range. For waveguide parts, these are more often than not WR975 waveguide.
