Our Microwave Heating and Industrial Drying System is a multi-use microwave system for both food and non-food applications. This system can be placed in front of an existing line to increase performance, yield and throughput. By utilizing “boost” heating technology, the MIP 9 is capable of increasing throughput by up to 25%. By raising the core temperature of the product, there is less reliance on conductive heat transfer to achieve minimum cook temperatures. In many instances, we see less moisture driven from the outer portion of the product. Consequently, we see higher final yields for various products that require microwave heating and drying.
A System for Microwave Heating & Industrial Drying
The MIP 9 is capable of drying items like snack foods, spices, biomass, industrial foam, coal and more. Over the years, we’ve seen a major increase in the use of microwave energy across industrial applications. The efficiency of the MIP 9 microwave heating system allows users to evaporate water from their products, and process more overall product with less labor.
Here are the ways in which the MIP 9 can help dramatically increase the performance of your existing cooking line:
Boost Heating Advantages
- Increases yield
- Increases throughput
- Preferential denaturing of bones and bone matter
- Touch screen controls
Industrial Drying Advantages
- Increased efficiency
- Decreased energy usage
- Decreased energy costs
- Increased throughput
- Flexibility through instantaneous control
Mechanical Specifications and System Operation
The MIP 9 system consists of one fifteen (15) foot long heavy duty, stainless steel, multi-mode cavity. Each cavity is equipped with two (2) access doors for easy cleaning. Along the bottom of they system is a sloped pan leading to a waste collection pipe system. Both cavities come equipped with two (2) high-power microwave rotary feeds. The two rotary feeds are positioned as one top and one bottom. These feeds are critical to enhancing energy distribution. At the input and output, suppression tunnels are positioned to prevent microwave leakage into the surrounding work area. The cavity of the system features half and full product detection and arc sensing.
A 36-inch wide positive drive, articulated belt, transports the food product through the oven. The belt is made of microwave transparent materials. Standard tunnels accommodate beds of material 34 in. x 3 in. (86 cm. x 6 cm.), with other tunnel sizes also available. Similar to our other systems, the MIP 9 process oven and generator features interlocking access doors. Our safety mechanisms meet OSHA and Health and Human Services safety standards. Safety exposure limits of 5 mW/cm² measured from 5 cm away from the equipment are twice as stringent as OSHA’s voluntary standard.
Fittings are provided on request to interface with an optional, customer-supplied fire suppression system. Light and temperature sensors in the oven send signals to trigger the system.
The MIP 9 Boost Heating and Industrial Drying System is the solution for conventional cooking systems. Whether you are upgrading your existing line, or aiming to improve performance of a conventional line, our complete microwave systems are ideal for both food and non-food applications.
