Ferrite designs circulators for industrial applications with the same exacting standards as our medical, military and scientific product offerings. Outside of industrial microwave applications, we offer a range of circulators for high-energy physics accelerators, defense radars, air traffic control, weather tracking, medical LINAC’s and communication systems.

Circulators for Industrial Heating
In most industrial heating applications, circulators are employed to direct microwave energy from one port to another. High-power designs can be used in conjunction with generators and systems as a whole. Each compatible circulator serves as a protector of the magnetron, which in turn, helps provide longer life for the tube itself. Benefits of Microwave Circulators
Circulators are often used as isolators or duplexers. They use magnetic fields to influence how the energy moves in the system. Typically, microwave circulators are 3 or 4-port devices. The 3-port devices are used as a junction, and 4-port devices are differential phase shift circulators. Depending upon the application and which style is in use, the benefits will vary. In this case, we’ll focus on the benefits of 3 port devices, more commonly found in industrial microwave systems.
The most significant benefit of utilizing a circulator is its abilities in protection and detection. They protect the magnetron and help provide a longer life for the magnetron tube. Circulators maintain excellent isolation with very low insertion loss. Another factor to consider is cost. When compared to four port devices, the three port junction style is less expensive. In addition, they have a smaller footprint. Our junction style circulators are available in either “Y” or “T” configuration.
Each of our industrial microwave generators comes fully equipped with a high power circulator, capable of 75kW or 100kW of microwave power. Seen to the right is our standard GET2024 generator, featuring a 915 MHz design.
Our designs are used to shield magnetrons from high reflected power. This ensures a long life for the magnetron tube and ensures your entire system will operate at superior levels.
