The application of microwave energy has advanced a number of industrial processing marketplaces. Our systems center on process control, flexibility, increased throughput and product enhancement. By utilizing our microwave heating and systems, industrial processors and government municipalities have turned refuse into byproducts for further processing.
Microwave systems are utilized by some municipalities for waste treatment and disposal efforts. Other applications include sludge drying and processing. Municipalities must remain EPA 504 compliant in waste treatment. However, EPA 504 regulatory compliance does nothing to remove the organic volatiles. Thermal intervention with microwaves makes the process cleaner. Microwave treatment not only satisfies EPA 504, but it also makes it safer. It removes the bacteria and pathogens that may otherwise eventually make its way back into the food we grow.
Applications for Industrial Processing
Coal Treatment
Coal drying with microwaves can be more cost effective for certain clients in energy markets where electricity is relatively cheap. We’ve configured modular drying systems specific for coal drying. This has allowed clients the flexibility to move production to other locations. Often, they see lower costs than incurred for traditional treatment equipment.
Bio-Solid Treatment
The bio-solid fuel industry is innovating new techniques for turning waste into energy. Microwave heating and drying can provide an alternative to conventional manufacturing. In current practices, we see grass and other natural waste converted into wood chips and pellets. These products are then burned as fuel. In hospitals and other large institutions, waste disposal can be treated with microwaves to turn waste into fuel. We’ve also built systems that power plasma incinerators for bio-waste disposal.
Oil Reclamation
Our microwave systems are utilized by energy companies to aid with oil reclamation efforts. Simply put, oil molecules can be cracked with a microwave. In doing so, conventional oil refinement processes can be replaced with microwave systems. This will not only avoid the necessity of using a cracking tower, but also decrease your facility’s footprint.
